Job summary

Bayside Council is seeking a part-time Recreational Duty Supervisor to lead the Arncliffe Youth Centre's daily operations, supervising staff and patrons to ensure safe, engaging programs.

You'll coordinate activities, respond to customer queries, and implement procedures across opening, closing, and security, with a roster including early mornings and nights. A proactive team player with strong communication will thrive.

Qualifications

• Supervising and operating sports and recreation centres.
• Experience leading staff in a customer service environment.
• Strong customer service, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to plan and deliver community sports programs.
• Proficiency with recreation software and technology.
• Able to undertake manual handling and physical tasks.
• Knowledge of indoor sports such as basketball, netball, volleyball.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day operations ensuring bookings, programs, and events run safely.
• Supervise Recreational Attendants and promote teamwork.
• Lead staff training, mentoring and onboarding.
• Deliver high standard customer service per charter.
• Act as escalation point for enquiries/complaints.
• Implement opening/closing and security procedures.
• Monitor safety and respond to hazards; work across early mornings to late nights.
