Job summary

Banyule City Council invites applications for a casual Youth Outreach and Program Support Worker. Join the Youth and Community Connections team to engage with young people through outreach, programs, events and youth-led initiatives across community spaces and schools.

You will support delivery of safe, inclusive youth activities, build positive relationships with diverse young people, and contribute to wellbeing and social connection while meeting child-safety standards.

Qualifications

• Has demonstrated experience working with young people.
• Has a relevant qualification or experience in youth services, youth work, community development, education, recreation or a related field.
• Can build positive relationships with diverse young people.
• Understands child safe practice and inclusive engagement.
• Is available to work evenings, weekends and school holidays on a casual basis.

Responsibilities

• Build positive connections with young people throughout reach and engagement; engage with the community, provide information and help connect to services and opportunities.
• Support the delivery of safe, inclusive and engaging youth programs and events, planning and delivering activities and youth-led initiatives.
• Contribute to community wellbeing and Council engagement activities, including safety, consultations, events and place-based engagement, ensuring activities are delivered safely.
