Job summary

The Salvation Army in Townsville is seeking a Youth Case Manager to support young people and families affected by alcohol and other drug use. You will deliver case management, advocacy, and tailored plans within a trauma-informed framework in a mixed outreach and residential setting.

With a Diploma or degree in related fields and at least two years' experience, you’ll collaborate across teams, maintain records, and ensure safe transport when needed.

Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work, Youth Work, Community Services or related discipline.
• At least 2 years' experience in case management with disadvantaged or complex-needs clients.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed practice, mental health, and adolescent development.
• Experience working with culturally diverse young people and families.
• Strong relationship-building, communication, and advocacy skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in complex and unpredictable situations.
• Excellent organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to reflective practice and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport clients when required using a TSA vehicle.

Youth Case Manager | Full Time | Rowes Bay, Townsville SCHADS Level 4

Make a real difference in a young person's recovery journey. The Salvation Army is seeking a passionate and experienced Youth Case Manager to support young people and young families experiencing challenges related to alcohol and other drug use. This role will work with young people in outreach, as well as a small cohort of young people in a residential rehabilitation centre. Working within a trauma-informed and psychologically informed practice framework, you'll empower young people to achieve positive outcomes through tailored case management, advocacy, and holistic support.

What You'll Bring

Essential Requirements

• Current Driver's Licence
• Blue Card / Working with Children Check
• Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
