Job summary

Bowens is seeking a reliable Yard Hand / Delivery Driver to pick, pack and deliver customer orders across sites. You will perform pre-delivery checks, handle stock, and keep yards tidy while providing excellent service to customers.

Ideal candidates will have a valid driver’s license, strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and with a team in a fast-paced building materials environment. Pre-employment checks apply.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
• Knowledge of timber and hardware is advantageous but not essential.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to perform physical tasks safely and work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Pick and pack customer orders from picking slips for delivery.
• Safely deliver orders to designated locations using a company vehicle.
• Conduct pre-delivery vehicle checks and report issues.
• Serve customers and provide outstanding service.
• Put stock away and maintain tidy yard areas.

Your duties will include but are not limited to:

• Pick and pack customer orders from picking slips to ensure they are prepared accurately and ready for the agreed delivery time
• Safely deliver customer orders to their designated locations using a company vehicle, ensuring timely and professional service
• Conduct pre-delivery vehicle checks and report any maintenance issues promptly
• Serving customers and ensuring they receive an outstanding customer experience
• Putting stock away
• Cleaning the yard and ensuring it is neat and tidy at all times

We are looking for an individual who possesses the below skills:

• A valid driver’s license and a safe driving record
• Knowledge of Timber and Hardware is advantageous but not essential
• Strong communication skills
• Able to deliver outstanding customer service
• A capability to undertake physical tasks safely
• Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
• Ability to work independently as well as contribute as a team member
