Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia is seeking a Workshop Supervisor at our Wacol branch. You will lead a busy Service Department, guiding technicians and apprentices, optimizing daily workshop activities, and upholding safety and quality standards.

The role focuses on productivity, budget control, and exceptional customer outcomes while developing a high-performance team. You will report to the Service Manager and contribute to continuous improvement, effective communication across service

Qualifications

• Leadership or supervisory experience in a workshop/service environment.
• Strong experience maintaining earthmoving, construction or mining equipment.
• Commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
• Ability to motivate and develop teams for high-performance outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and mentor technicians and apprentices, fostering a high-performance team culture
• Plan and coordinate daily workshop activities to maximise labour utilisation and workshop efficiency
• Promote and maintain a strong safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with all WHS requirements
• Monitor workshop performance, productivity and quality standards to deliver exceptional customer outcomes
• Review and manage WIP, job costs and workflow, ensuring work is completed on time and within budget
• Ensure accurate service documentation, warranty compliance and reporting requirements are maintained
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, service quality and customer satisfaction
• Support effective communication across customers, technicians, parts and service teams
