Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia is seeking an experienced Workshop Leading Hand to join our Revesby NSW team. Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you will lead a team of skilled technicians across New Build and Retail Repair activities, driving safety, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.

This role offers a hands-on leadership path in a busy, high-performing workshop, with a trade qualification in Diesel Mechanics or similar and a proactive, team-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Diesel Mechanics, Mobile Plant, Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, or similar.
• Experience maintaining and repairing construction, earthmoving, mining, or heavy equipment is highly regarded but not essential.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive, team-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily workshop activities to maximise productivity and efficiency.
• Lead, mentor, and support technicians to achieve quality and performance targets.
• Monitor workflow and job progress to ensure customer deadlines are met.
• Provide technical guidance and support across New Build and Retail Repair work.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders on machine performance and repairs.
• Promote and maintain a strong safety-first culture.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across workshop operations.
• Ensure high standards of workmanship, quality control, and customer service.
