Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking a hands-on Workshop Works Assistant for a fixed-term role across Broken Hill and regional workshops. You will perform inspections, maintain accurate records, and support fleet maintenance programs in a busy, high-traffic environment.

The role requires travel to multiple workshop locations quarterly, with accommodation and LAFHA where applicable, and a focus on safety, quality and teamwork to deliver reliable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience working independently and with others.
• Ability to use literacy and numeracy skills to complete records.
• Knowledge of legislative procedures and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Support Workshop Supervisors to maintain workshop compliance.
• Conduct field-based inspections and update documentation.
• Travel to regional workshops quarterly; assist with fleet maintenance delivery.
• Identify and resolve routine issues following established procedures.
• Ensure safe, high-quality outcomes and maintain WHS inspections.
