Job summary

Transit Systems NSW is seeking an assistant in our workshop to support mechanics with heavy vehicle servicing and repairs, and to handle minor maintenance tasks. You will remove and replace tyres and help maintain a clean, safe workshop environment to support a reliable public transport fleet.

Ideal candidates will have previous workshop experience, a mechanical mindset, and a self-motivated approach. Basic data entry and spare parts understanding are also advantageous.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance workshop experience.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn and develop.
• Be self-motivated with a proactive approach to tasks.
• Forklift certificate (desirable).
• Computer literate with basic keyboard skills and data entry.
• Understand spare part management.

Responsibilities

• Assist mechanics carrying out heavy vehicle servicing and repairs.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks.
• Remove and replace tyres.
• Conduct general workshop cleanliness, tidiness and litter management.
