Job summary

RDO Equipment in Sydney is seeking a Workshop Coordinator (Service Supervisor) to lead the day-to-day operation of the workshop. You will ensure exceptional customer service, efficient workflow, and a safe, productive environment on site.

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will assign jobs, support technicians, and drive a strong safety culture while delivering high-quality outcomes for Vermeer equipment customers across Australia.

Qualifications

• Mechanical or technical background required.
• Mechanical Trade Certificate preferred but not essential.
• Experience with diagnostics, electrical, hydraulic and mechanical repairs.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Current and valid driver’s licence.
• High‑risk work tickets and/or licences highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Providing excellent customer service over the phone and in person.
• Monitoring and managing daily workshop workflow and safety compliance.
• Assigning jobs to Service Technicians and supporting team performance.
• Scheduling and conducting in-house training for Service Technicians and apprentices.
• Maintaining product knowledge and liaising with Parts Department as required.
• Assisting with management and resolution of customer concerns and disputes.
• Supporting timely completion of warranty claims and WIP requirements.
• Reviewing repair work before equipment release to ensure quality standards.

About the Role

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will play a key leadership role in the day-to-day operation of the workshop, ensuring exceptional customer service, efficient workflow management, and a safe, productive working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing excellent customer service, seeking customer feedback, and offering advice to customers over the phone
• Monitoring and managing daily workshop workflow while ensuring compliance with company procedures and standards
• Assigning jobs to Service Technicians and supporting team members with performance, development, and day-to-day operational matters
• Scheduling and conducting in-house training for Service Technicians and apprentices
• Maintaining product knowledge and liaising with the Parts Department as required
• Assisting with the management and resolution of customer concerns and disputes in conjunction with the Service Manager
• Supporting the timely completion of warranty claims and work-in-progress (WIP) requirements
• Reviewing repair work before equipment is released to customers to ensure quality standards are met
• Driving a strong safety culture and leading by example within the workshop

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• A strong mechanical or technical background
• A Mechanical Trade Certificate (preferred but not essential)
• Experience with diagnostics, electrical, hydraulic and mechanical repairs
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• The ability to support, guide and work with a team
• Good organisational and problem-solving skills
• A mature, logical and methodical approach to your work
• A current and valid driver’s licence
• High-risk work tickets and/or licences will be highly regarded
