Job summary

RDO Equipment in Brisbane is seeking a Service Technician to join our John Deere and Vermeer team. You will diagnose, repair and service a range of heavy equipment, recording all work and keeping tools and workspace safe and tidy.

You will work closely with customers and team members to identify service needs, deliver solutions, and uphold on-site safety and professional standards. A trade qualification with relevant certifications is required, and a valid driver’s licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Trade qualified in heavy diesel/plant equipment.
• Experience with heavy diesel equipment repairs and overhauls.
• Strong diagnostic skills across electrical, hydraulic, and IT systems.
• Excellent communication and customer service focus.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Service Technician, you will:

• Carry out diagnostics, repairs, servicing and maintenance on a range of heavy equipment
• Accurately record all work completed, including parts used and time taken
• Keep the workshop tidy and take care of tools, machines and equipment
• Work closely with the team and customers to identify service needs and provide solutions
• Follow all safety procedures and represent the company professionally on-site
• Deliver expert service and support to our customers and partners
• Contribute to a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement

What We’re Looking For

• Trade qualified Heavy Diesel Fitter, Mobile Plant Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience with heavy diesel equipment, including major repairs and overhauls.
• Strong diagnostic skills in electrical, hydraulic and IT systems.
• Great communication skills and a strong focus on customer service.
• Valid driver's licence and the right to work in Australia.
• Is safety conscious, solutions focused, and ready to grow
• A proactive team player who takes ownership and drives results
• Holds relevant certifications or qualifications
