JAX Tyres & Auto Penrith is seeking a hands-on, driven Workshop Controller to take ownership of daily operations and performance in our busy automotive workshop.

You will be the go-to person for complex diagnostics, mentoring apprentices, and delivering exceptional customer experiences while ensuring quality and compliance with industry standards.

The role

Managing the day-to-day operations of the workshop, workflow, and resource allocation.

You’ll be the go-to person for complex diagnostics and technical support as well as apprentices.

Providing leadership and mentoring to the workshop team, fostering a positive and productive work environment

Ensure JAX Inspect is completed on all vehicles and all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and in compliance with industry regulations

You’ll work closely with front -of-house-staff to assist in delivering a seamless customer experience

Provide Service Advise to customers when required

About You

Extensive experience in a similar workshop controller or automotive workshop management role.

Confident leader who can motivate without micromanaging and mentor

Strong technical knowledge of automotive systems and repair procedures

Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders

Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively

A proven track record of leading and motivating a team to achieve high levels of performance

5 years’ experience as a qualified mechanic with hands-on experience across tyres and alignment,

Certificate II in Automotive Air Conditioning Technology (Preferred)

AIS Certificate
