CMV Group, a South Australian icon with around 2,000 employees, seeks an experienced WHS Advisor to join the team. The role is based at Greenhill Road, Adelaide, with occasional travel to regional SA, and involves providing practical WHS guidance, coaching and building capability across the Group.
You will work with managers to identify opportunities, lead safety improvements, and contribute to broader WHS projects as the function grows. A hands-on, relational approach is essential.
Help shape and elevate the WHS function within one of South Australia's largest privately owned businesses.
CMV Group, a true South Australian icon and one of South Australia's largest privately owned businesses, is looking for an experienced WHS Advisor to join its growing team.
With more than 90 years of business success, CMV employs approximately 2,000 people across South Australia and Victoria and operates some of the most progressive franchises within the automotive and agricultural industries.
What really stands out about this opportunity is the importance placed on safety across the Group. Safety First is CMV’s number one value – it’s embedded in the way the business operates and the work of the WHS team is highly regarded across the organisation.
It’s also an exciting time to join. The WHS function is growing and continuing to evolve, creating an opportunity to not only step into an established environment with good systems and frameworks already in place, but to contribute ideas, get involved in projects and help shape how the function develops from here.
Based from CMV Group’s Greenhill Road office, this is a hands-on WHS Advisor position supporting businesses and sites predominantly across metropolitan Adelaide, with occasional travel to regional South Australian locations.
You’ll work closely with managers and leaders across the Group, providing practical WHS advice, coaching and guidance while building their capability and driving continuous improvement in safety practices.
This isn’t a role where you’ll spend your week sitting behind a desk. You’ll be visible across the business, building relationships, understanding how different sites operate and working alongside leaders to identify opportunities and achieve better safety outcomes.
There’s plenty of variety, autonomy and scope to make an impact. You’ll have established systems and frameworks to work with, the support of a WHS Coordinator and the opportunity to be involved in broader WHS projects as the function continues to grow and evolve.
You’re an experienced WHS professional who is passionate about making workplaces safer and enjoys being out in the business, partnering with people rather than simply policing process.
You’ll need a level of confidence in this role. You’ll be working with managers and leaders across a diverse group of businesses, so you need to be comfortable holding your own, providing advice and constructively challenging when required. Just as importantly, you know that influencing better safety outcomes starts with relationships – you’re approachable, credible and able to bring people with you.
You’re proactive and motivated, with a genuine interest in improving WHS across an organisation. You notice the detail, follow things through and don’t wait for an issue to arise before looking for ways things could be done better.
Experience within workshop, automotive, agricultural or similarly operational environments would be advantageous, but isn’t essential.
