Core Talent is seeking a hands-on WHSE Advisor to implement and drive health, safety and environmental standards at a major site in Cabramatta, Sydney. You will work with production leadership to ensure safe systems of work are understood and applied, identify risks, drive action plans and liaise with regulators.

This is a hands-on role focused on maintaining compliance and continual improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in WHSE roles within manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of WHSE legislation and ISO standards (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
• Experience with environmental risk management and dangerous goods.
• Certificate IV in WHS or higher.
• Ability to balance hands-on safety with compliance and reporting.
• Strong communication skills.
• Risk-based mindset with initiative and autonomy.

About the Role

The WHSE Advisor will be responsible for implementing and driving health, safety, and environmental standards on one of their major sites. You will work closely with production manager, site leadership, and frontline teams, to ensure safe systems of work are understood and applied in practice.

This is a hands-on role, where you’ll be expected to identify risks, drive action plans, and ensure compliance, while also engaging teams effectively. You’ll also liaise with external regulators to assist with environmental, chemical handling, and dangerous goods considerations on site.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement WHSE across a major manufacturing site, ensuring compliance with legislation, site licences, and companywide systems
• Provide clear, practical guidance to site teams and production managers, building trust and driving accountability
• Conduct audits, inspections, risk assessments, and investigations, ensuring corrective actions are followed through
• Liaise with regulatory bodies (EPA, SafeWork) to maintain compliance and manage environmental reporting
• Communicate effectively with a diverse workforce, ensuring understanding of safe work practices
• Collaborate with senior management and site leadership to influence, implement, and maintain WHSE action plans

Candidate Requirements

• Experience in a similar WHSE role, ideally in manufacturing, FMCG, or chemical handling environments
• Strong understanding of WHSE legislation, systems, and compliance requirements (e.g. ISO 45001, ISO 14001, GMP, HACCP)
• Experience working with environmental risk management, chemical handling, heavy machinery, and dangerous goods
• Certificate IV in WHS or higher
• Proven ability to balance practical, hands-on safety engagement with compliance and reporting requirements
• Strong communication skills
• Risk-based mindset with the ability to take initiative and work autonomously
