Job summary

Elements Recruitment Australia is seeking a seasoned WHS Advisor in Parramatta on a hybrid basis. You will guide leaders on WHS risks, injury management and workers' compensation, while developing return-to-work plans and coordinating with insurers.

You’ll partner with the senior HR team to improve safety practices, run inductions and training, and drive proactive HS compliance across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Broad WHS experience including injury management and workers compensation.
• SIRA Return to Work Coordinator accreditation or equivalent.
• Experience in multi-site environments with frontline operations.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Advising leaders on WHS risks, incidents, injury management and appropriate actions.
• Managing workers compensation, return-to-work and personal injury matters.
• Developing and managing individual return-to-work plans.
• Collaborating with employees, managers, insurers and external providers to achieve timely outcomes.
• Reviewing incidents and supporting investigations.
• Maintaining and improving WHS policies, risk registers and reporting.
• Supporting WHS inductions, training and safety awareness initiatives.
• Monitoring hazards, incidents and injury trends for continuous improvement.
• Liaising with insurers on workers' compensation claims and premium management.
• Preparing WHS data and insights for monthly Board reporting.
• Conducting site visits and risk assessments as required.

Step into a broad WHS Advisor role where your advice, judgement and stakeholder influence will make a real impact across safety, workers compensation, injury management and return to work.

Joining a well-established, purpose-led organisation with 500 + employees across multiple locations, you’ll work closely with the senior People & Culture leader, broader HR team and operational leaders to provide practical advice, strengthen safety awareness and support positive injury management outcomes.

This is an established role with strong foundations in place, allowing you to focus on partnering with leaders, managing BAU matters and continuing to improve safety practices across the organisation.

The Role

Reporting to the senior People & Culture leader, you’ll act as a trusted WHS Advisor to operational and senior leaders across corporate and frontline environments.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Advising leaders on WHS risks, incidents, injury management and appropriate actions
• Managing workers compensation, return-to-work and personal injury matters
• Developing and managing individual return-to-work plans
• Working closely with employees, managers, insurers and external providers to achieve timely outcomes
• Reviewing incidents and supporting or coordinating workplace investigations
• Maintaining and improving WHS policies, procedures, risk registers and reporting
• Supporting WHS inductions, training and safety awareness initiatives
• Monitoring hazards, incidents and injury trends and identifying areas for improvement
• Working with the insurer on claims and workers compensation premium management
• Preparing WHS data and insights for monthly Board reporting
• Conducting site visits and risk assessments as required

About You

You’ll be a confident, pragmatic WHS professional who can work autonomously, build credibility quickly and provide clear, practical advice to managers.

You will ideally bring:

• Experience in a broad WHS, injury management and workers compensation role
• SIRA Return to Work Coordinator accreditation and experience managing NSW workers compensation claims
• Experience managing workplace and non-work-related injuries
• Exposure to psychosocial claims or psychosocial risk management
• Strong stakeholder management skills and confidence advising operational and senior leaders
• Experience within a larger, multi-site employer; frontline, operational, environments would be highly regarded
• A practical, empathetic and solutions-focused communication style
• Strong reporting skills and intermediate Excel capability
• The ability to work independently while collaborating closely with HR and operational teams
• Current driver’s licence
• A relevant WHS or related qualification is preferred.
