Gibson Freight Australia – Melbourne Airport, VIC is seeking an experienced Wholesale Airfreight Manager to lead and develop our established wholesale/import airfreight operation in a growing Australian-owned business. You will oversee daily import operations, manage capacity and profitability, and strengthen airline relationships as part of a broader national airfreight initiative.

You will work closely with our bonded warehouse and company-owned transport fleet to deliver integrated cargo

• Experience in international airfreight operations, preferably wholesale forwarding.
• Proven experience leading or managing an operations team.
• Strong understanding of airline relationships, cargo handling and capacity management.
• Commercial awareness including pricing, cost control and profitability.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive approach to operational performance, customer service and business development.

Gibson Freight is an Australian owned freight forwarding and customs brokerage business with almost 50 years of industry experience. Our wholesale airfreight division is a significant part of our business, with substantial freight volumes moving from the USA into Australia.

The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Airfreight Manager to oversee our Melbourne wholesale airfreight operations and support the continued growth of the business.

You will work closely with our in-house bonded warehouse and company-owned transport fleet, including dedicated loose airfreight vehicles and roller-bed trailers, providing an integrated solution from cargo arrival through to collection and delivery.

Working closely with our national teams, you will be responsible for maintaining service standards, developing the team, strengthening airline relationships and identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and grow wholesale volumes.
