Job summary

Scenic Rim Regional Council in Beaudesert, QLD is seeking a Weighbridge and Waste Levy Officer to operate weighbridge services, deliver high‑quality customer service and manage waste data compliance. Based at the Bromelton Central Waste Facility, you may work from other facilities across the Scenic Rim.

Responsibilities include daily weighbridge operations, determining diversion vs fees, liaising with contractors for recyclables, reporting Waste Levy data, and managing commercial waste accounts

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Business Administration or equivalent level of relevant experience.
• Highly developed interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively and provide a positive customer experience.
• Experience in waste operations (or similar regulatory environment), particularly weighbridge operations.
• Knowledge of processes relevant to waste levy, waste operations and environmental compliance in a waste facility setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day incoming and outgoing weighbridge operations for customers.
• Inspect incoming waste to determine diversion vs fees and ensure compliance with environmental licence conditions.
• Liaise with contractors to coordinate collection/processing of recyclables from Council waste facilities.
• Review, amend and report transactional data relating to State Government Waste Levy requirements.
• Manage commercial waste account holders, including gross and tare weights, monthly account summaries and discrepancies follow-up.
