Job summary

Cater Care is hiring a Weekend Chef for Ballarat Grammar Boarding in Ballarat, VIC. This casual, weekend role focuses on preparing quality meals and ensuring a positive dining experience for boarding students, with 16 hours per week across Saturdays and Sundays.

You will join a trusted education catering team, bringing pride in food quality, hygiene and service while working independently in a supportive school dining environment.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in cookery from a recognised program.
• Experience in a professional kitchen; education/boarding catering preferred.
• Ability to prepare meals, bulk cooking and kitchen operations.
• Excellent organisation and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fresh, nutritious and well-presented meals to a high standard.
• Coordinate food preparation, bulk cooking and daily kitchen operations.
• Provide friendly service to create a positive dining experience for students.
• Work independently and manage kitchen priorities efficiently.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness.
• Support a welcoming boarding environment through reliable service and quality meals.

About You

Desired Skills and Experience

• A commitment to food quality, presentation, hygiene and customer service
• Willingness to meet pre-employment requirements, including a Working With Children Check and National Police Check
