Job summary

Cater Care is seeking a qualified Chef to join our aged care facility in The Basin, Victoria on a part-time basis. This hands-on role focuses on preparing nutritious, high-quality meals for residents and staff, with a consistent Friday to Sunday roster from 9:30am to 5:30pm.

The position offers a collaborative kitchen team, ongoing career development opportunities, on-site parking, uniforms, and a supportive community while ensuring texture-modified options and adherence to food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
• Previous experience in a Chef role, with aged care experience essential.
• Strong ability to prepare and deliver high-quality meals in a care-focused environment.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organisation, time management and attention to detail, with a genuine commitment to resident wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present fresh, nutritious and high-quality meals for residents and staff.
• Assist with bulk meal preparation and daily kitchen operations.
• Prepare texture-modified meals in accordance with individual dietary requirements.
• Maintain a clean, safe and well-organised kitchen while following food safety and WHS requirements.
• Provide friendly, efficient service and contribute positively to a respectful team environment.

We are seeking a qualified Chef to join our aged care facility in The Basin on a part-time basis.

This is a hands-on role within a large, well-established residential aged care home comprising nine residential wings, supported by a collaborative kitchen team and a welcoming community of residents.

Working within a structured and supportive environment, you will play an important role in preparing nutritious, high-quality meals that contribute to the health, wellbeing and dining experience of our residents.

This position also provides opportunities for ongoing employment and career development within the organisation.
