Job summary

Mackay Regional Council is seeking a Planning and Maintenance Officer for the Water Network team on a temporary full-time contract through to April 2027. The role involves planning, scheduling, and administrative support to coordinate maintenance activities and asset renewal across the Mackay Region.

You will report to the Maintenance Planner and handle work orders, reporting, and data management while supporting water meter programs.

Qualifications

• Experience in administration, planning or maintenance support.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn specialised software systems.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Generate and coordinate maintenance work orders and schedules.
• Assist with planning, reporting and renewal/capital projects.
• Support water meter renewal and replacement programs.
• Maintain asset and operational data in corporate systems.
• Prepare reports and regulatory information.
• Review maintenance histories to support renewal planning.
• Provide administrative support to operational teams.
