Job summary

Whitsunday Regional Council invites applications for a Water and Wastewater Network Operations Worker (Licensed Plumber) based in Bowen. You will join our Network Operations team to support capital projects and maintain essential water and sewerage infrastructure across the region.

The role includes construction, maintenance, repairs and installation tasks, plus on-call duties. Essential licencing and certifications are required, with Desirable certifications helping broaden responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Class C Manual driver's licence.
• Licensed Plumber & Drainer.
• Desirable: Confined Space, Working at Heights, Trenching and shoring, Poly Welding Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the construction, maintenance and repair of water and sewerage infrastructure.
• Undertaking installation, maintenance and fault repairs on water, wastewater and sewerage assets.
• Inspecting mains and service connections to ensure the safe, reliable and economical delivery of services.
• Assisting with the installation of new water and sewerage infrastructure projects.
• Maintaining amenities and associated plumbing infrastructure across the region.
• Responding to emergency callouts and participating in a rostered on-call arrangement.
• Delivering high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely, professionally and in accordance with Council standards and procedures.
