Job summary

Mackay Regional Council is seeking an experienced Maintenance Project Officer to join the Water Network team. You will provide specialist technical advice and coordinate maintenance across water and wastewater assets to support reliable and safe services for the community.

Reporting to the Maintenance Planner, you will oversee preventative, corrective and capital works, guiding field staff and contractors to deliver compliant, high-quality outcomes aligned with the Council's asset management

Qualifications

• Trade qualification or relevant experience in water and sewer industry.
• Experience in water and sewer operations, maintenance and construction.
• Experience supervising or coordinating moderately complex technical projects.
• Strong asset management and maintenance planning knowledge.
• Good problem-solving, time management and communication skills.
• Current QLD 'C' Class Driver Licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist technical advice and support for maintenance of water and wastewater assets.
• Coordinate planning and delivery of preventative, corrective, reactive and capital maintenance.
• Support field staff and contractors to achieve safe, compliant outcomes.
• Ensure alignment with Council's Strategic Asset Management Plan.
