Job summary

MidCoast Council is seeking a Network Operator to support the operation, maintenance and improvement of water and wastewater networks across the MidCoast region. The role involves planned and reactive maintenance, responding to service issues and ensuring safe, efficient operation of essential water infrastructure.

You will operate pumping stations, process plants and network assets, assist with repairs, and contribute to on-call and emergency response activities.

Qualifications

• Experience in the water, wastewater, industrial process or related industry or a relevant trade qualification.
• Knowledge of water and wastewater systems and networks.
• Understanding of pumping systems, equipment and pipe laying techniques.
• Commitment to safety, teamwork and customer service.
• Ability to work effectively in a field-based operational environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with operation and maintenance of water and wastewater networks and assets.
• Undertake planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
• Support additions, alterations and renewals of water and sewer infrastructure.
• Operate and maintain pumping stations, process plants and network assets.
• Respond to customer enquiries, emergency calls and network incidents.
• Assist with repairs to plant, equipment and system components.
• Work across a variety of operational functions within Water Operations as required.
• Participate in the on-call roster and emergency response activities.
