Job summary

SA Water in Australia seeks an experienced leader to oversee water network maintenance and cleaning operations, driving safe, efficient service delivery. You will lead a high-performing team, manage maintenance programs, and ensure regulatory and safety compliance while delivering reliable customer outcomes.

The role focuses on safety, performance improvement, budgeting, and stakeholder collaboration to optimise system performance and asset reliability across a diverse service area.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in an operational leadership role.
• Ability to communicate clearly and resolve conflicts.
• Strong organisation, prioritisation and problem-solving skills.
• Valid Driver's Licence.
• Experience in training, coaching and providing feedback to teams.
• Enterprise Trainer and Assessor Skill Set (or willingness to complete).

Responsibilities

• Lead and promote a proactive safety culture across all team activities.
• Coach, mentor and develop team members through performance management.
• Ensure WHS compliance, operational standards and quality management.
• Oversee water mains cleaning and ancillary maintenance programs.
• Develop and review operational procedures and maintenance strategies.
• Manage resources, workloads, and training requirements for readiness.
• Monitor financial performance including labour, overtime, materials and contractors.
• Build stakeholder relationships and coordinate activities to deliver outcomes.
• Lead customer issue resolution and drive continuous improvement.
