Job summary

Inghams in Essington, SA, is recruiting for AM, PM and Night shift forklift operators. You will operate high-reach forklifts, pick and pack using RF scanning, and support warehouse loading/unloading in a chilled environment.

The role requires a current forklift licence (essential), prior RC/RM forklift experience and warehouse/distribution background. We offer consistent hours, onsite parking, product discounts and a strong health and safety culture.

Qualifications

• Current forklift licence is essential.
• Previous stand-up RC/RM forklift experience is desirable.
• Warehouse/distribution experience or similar is required.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate high reach forklifts (7 bays high, etc.).
• Pallet and unit picking/packing using RF scanning.
• Unload/load vehicles and manage materials in a chilled environment.
• Maintain safety and report hazards to leadership.

Daily Tasks

• High reach forklift operation, 7 bays high, single bay deep.
• Both pallet and unit picking and packing using RF scanning and high reach RC and RM forklifts for both warehouse and truck loading/unloading operations
• Completing manual handling duties
• Working within a Chiller environment - PPE Provided (Jacket)
• Storing and maintaining materials, equipment and tools
• Identifying and escalating Food Safety & Quality, hazard and risk issues to the relevant leadership teams

Skills required

• Current forklift licence essential, previous RC and/or RM stand-up forklift experience desirable
• Previous Freezer and/or Export operations favourable
• Warehouse and/or Distribution experience or similar required
• Understand and follow instructions and procedures
• Work well independently, within a team environment
• Communicate well both written and verbally
• Showing commitment, reliability and motivation
• Respond calmly when faced with obstacles
• Physically fit and repetitively lift 5kg-15kg
• Flexibility to cover various shifts such as regular weekend work and public holidays
