Job summary

St Vincent's Private Hospital Brisbane - Melbourne VIC is seeking a Waiting List Officer to manage elective surgery waiting lists from a clerical perspective in line with the DHHS policy. You will support the Surgical Liaison Nurses and ensure patients are prepared for procedures.

Ideal candidates have healthcare administration experience and proficiency with patient administration systems, plus strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in administration in a healthcare role.
• Experience with patient administration systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Teams, SharePoint, Excel).
• Current National criminal history check, or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process waiting list forms from clinics and other areas within the stipulated time frame.
• Create, record and update the Waiting List Screen on PAS as required.
• Contact patients and schedule admissions for procedures.
• Schedule pre-admission, anaesthetic, PMU clinics and related investigations as requested.

About the Role

The Waiting List Officer is accountable for the management of patients on the Elective Surgery Waiting List from a clerical perspective within the guidelines of the Department of Health Elective Surgery Access Policy. They provide efficient administrative support within the team and work closely with the Surgical Liaison Nurses to ensure patients are safely prepared for their elective procedure.

• Receive and process waiting list forms from specialist clinics, private rooms and other areas of St Vincent's within stipulated time frame as per DHHS Elective Surgery Access Policy
• Accurately create, record and update the Waiting List Screen on Patient Administration System (PAS) as required
• Contact patients and schedule admission for procedures
• Schedule any appointments, that may include pre admission clinic, anaesthetic clinic, perioperative medicine unit (PMU) clinic and any associated investigations as requested by the SLN or unit

Classification for this position will range between HS1 - HS17 ($60,780.72 - $67,194.40 per annum, pro rata) with an over award of $4.47 per hour.
