Job summary

Yiaga in Melbourne's Fitzroy Gardens seeks a Chef de Rang / Waiter to deliver exceptional guest experiences in a fine dining setting. You will be part of a professional Front of House team and report to the Restaurant Manager.

Responsibilities include delivering attentive, knowledgeable and personalised service from arrival through to departure, with a strong focus on guest satisfaction and hospitality excellence.

Qualifications

Located within Melbourne’s historic Fitzroy Gardens on Wurundjeri Country, Yiaga is shaped by place, season and community.

Our ever-evolving menu and beverage program celebrates Australia through its farmers, fishers, growers, makers, artists and creative collaborators. Set within the heritage gardens, the restaurant is crafted almost entirely from Australian materials, drawing on local traditions of making and craft.

The Role:

Our Front of House team is seeking a talented and passionate Chef de Rang / Waiter who is genuinely enthusiastic about hospitality and committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences.

As a key member of our team, you will report to the Restaurant Manager and will play an important role in delivering the high standard of service, ensuring every guest receives attentive, knowledgeable and personalised service from arrival through to departure.

We are looking for someone who is eager to further their career in hospitality, develop their food and beverage knowledge, and contribute to a collaborative, professional and ambitious team.

The successful candidate will bring genuine warmth, attention to detail and a strong understanding of what makes exceptional service.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

• Proven experience in a fine dining or similar high-end hospitality environment, with expertise as a section waiter.
• Demonstrated excellence in customer service and exceptional communication skills.
• Ability to perform effectively under pressure and maintain composure during busy periods.
• Flexibility in scheduling, including the ability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• Possession of a valid Victorian Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate.
• A desire to perform at the highest level

This is a full-time position that will require flexibility and weekend work, your shifts and may comprise of a combination of day and night shifts in accordance with business demands.
