RSL Queensland seeks a Compensation Advocate in Townsville to guide veterans through DVA claims and appeals, helping service-related conditions be recognised and accessed for compensation, medical and rehabilitation support.
You will visit veterans at home or hospital, work with DVA and health providers, and develop your advocacy skills under our Team Leader Advocacy; this is a full-time, on-site role based in Aitkenvale, Townsville.
Navigating the compensation system can be complex and emotional for veterans and their families. As a Compensation Advocate in Townsville, you'll guide them through claims and appeals with the Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA). You'll help them get their service-related conditions recognised and access compensation, medical and rehabilitation support.
You won't be expected to know everything from day one. You'll build your skills under the guidance of experienced advocates and our Team Leader Advocacy.
The role includes home and hospital visits, and some travel within Queensland and intrastate.
This is a permanent position based full-time in our office in Aitkenvale in Townsville.
