Job summary
Blacktown City Council is seeking a planning professional to join the Urban Planning and Economic Development team. You will research land use, transport, housing, environmental and community issues and translate legislation and stakeholder input into practical planning advice.
Your week includes preparing reports and recommendations, developing planning strategies, environmental planning instruments, and development control plans, plus community consultation and responses to government
Qualifications
- Degree in planning or related field with NSW planning legislation understanding
- Experience in urban planning and ability to manage projects
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly and analyse planning issues
Responsibilities
- Prepare reports and recommendations
- Develop planning strategies, policies, environmental planning instruments and development control plans
- Contribute to community consultation
- Draft responses to State Government planning initiatives
- Maintain Section 10.7 Planning Certificate data and GIS mapping layers
- Provide advice to customers and colleagues
- Support projects from research through to implementation
