Job summary

St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney invites applications for a Postgraduate Fellow in Upper GI Surgery. This temporary 12-month, part-time 0.6 FTE role offers exposure to benign and malignant upper GI conditions, oesophagogastric, HPB, bariatric and advanced laparoscopic surgeries, with some robotic experience.

Successful candidates will support the Head of Department, coordinate registrars, participate in surgical skill courses, and may engage in clinical and basic research.

Qualifications

• Evidence of Continuing Medical Education and audit practices.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills within a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to teaching and supervision of junior medical staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide upper GI surgery care including benign/malignant pathologies.
• Cover general surgery on-call on nominated days.
• Support registrars and coordinate subspecialty teams.
