Job summary

St Vincent’s Private Hospital Brisbane in Sydney CBD NSW invites applications for a Postgraduate Fellow in Upper GI Surgery. The role is a temporary 12‑month, 0.6 FTE position in the Upper GI Surgery department, offering exposure to benign and malignant pathology and advanced laparoscopic techniques.

The successful candidate will work with senior staff, contribute to teaching, and may participate in research and academic appointments.

Qualifications

• Fellowship of the RACS in General Surgery or equivalent.
• AHPRA registration or eligible for registration.
• Evidence of Continuing Medical Education and audit.
• Sound Upper GI surgery knowledge with quality assurance experience.
• Experience teaching and supervising junior medical staff.

Responsibilities

• Work with Head of Department and Stream Director in managing registrars.
• Gain exposure to upper GI, HPB, bariatric and laparoscopic surgeries.
• Participate in surgical skill courses and research activities.
• Cover general surgery on-call on nominated days.
