Job summary

Catalyst Metals Ltd is seeking an Underground Project Geologist to integrate closely with mining and technical services and drive safe, predictable production outcomes at our underground operation in WA.

Reporting to the Senior Underground Geologist, you will own grade control modelling, oversee QA/QC, mentor geologists and technicians, and contribute to short- to long-term mine plans to optimise development and production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Geology
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience in the mining industry
• Experience in an underground production role and basic resource modelling is essential
• Computer literacy – 3D Modelling Software such as Leapfrog, Vulcan, Surpac and GIS packages

Responsibilities

• Own, coordinate and execute all geology Grade Control modelling and assist with related drilling activities in a proactive, efficient and timely manner.
• Provide ongoing mentorship and coaching to the Underground Mine Geologists and Underground Geology Technicians.
• Contribute to short, medium and long-term (LOM) mine plans and schedules to ensure the development of optimised mine plans.
• Monitor face and drill sample and assay quality, follow up QAQC issues.
