Job summary
Catalyst Metals Ltd is seeking an Underground Mine Geologist to join our on-site team. You will collect geological data and perform underground and surface activities such as face mapping, core logging, sampling, and QA/QC, supporting production targets through safe, efficient extraction and growth of the mineral reserve.
You will work closely with mining and technical services, contributing to a robust geological model used for up to six months of planned production.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science, majoring in Geology
- Current C-class manual drivers licence
- Experience underground mining preferred (gold)
- Proficiency in 3D geology software: SURPAC, Vulcan, Leapfrog
- Strong time management and interpersonal communication skills
- Full Australian working rights
Responsibilities
- Supervision of ore extraction to minimise dilution and maximise recovery
- Production duties: mapping, sampling, and core logging to guide underground development
- Provide direction for each face of underground development headings
- Ensuring the accurate tracking of ore from the mine to ROM
- Provide accurate daily production data/reporting as required
- Monitor QA/QC of sampling and assaying processes
- Maintain high levels of communication between geological personnel, engineers, surveyors and operational personnel on site
