Job summary

Catalyst Metals Limited is expanding its Plutonic Gold Belt operations in Central Western Australia. We are seeking a Mining Engineer to provide technical support for underground production planning and ground control, working with geotechnical and operations teams to drive safe, efficient results.

You will review development, plan production, and optimise drilling and blasting designs while coordinating with supervisors and crews to meet mine plans and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mining Engineering or similar.
• Experience in underground hard rock mining operations and production processes.
• Experience in drill and blast design, execution and short‑term mine scheduling.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with production data interpretation.
• Current WA C Class Driver's Licence.
• Desirable 2‑5 years underground mining engineering experience.
• First Class Mine Manager's Certificate and/or Underground Shift Supervisor Certificate or working towards.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to underground operations, assisting supervisors with production planning and execution.
• Monitor development, production, equipment utilisation and stope performance against mine plans.
• Conduct underground inspections to ensure compliance with mine designs, schedules, safety requirements and standards.
• Investigate production variances and delays, implementing practical solutions to improve productivity and reduce costs.
• Design and issue development and production drill patterns, charging plans and firing designs.
• Review drilling and blasting performance, post‑blast reconciliations and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with underground supervisors, drill crews and blast crews to ensure designs are practical and executed.
• Complete reconciliations and variance analysis, supporting optimisation of mining sequences.
