Catalyst Metals Limited, an Australian gold mining company, is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead underground and surface geotechnical activities across multiple projects in the Plutonic Gold Belt.

You will mentor geotechnical staff, drive ground control strategies, support mine planning, and work with Deswik and Rocscience software, on a 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth with a strong safety and development focus.

Qualifications

• Degree qualifications in Geotechnical, Mining or Civil Engineering.
• 6–10+ years' experience in underground hard rock geotechnical engineering.
• Strong knowledge of rock mechanics, ground support design and ground control management.
• Experience supporting mine planning, production and operational teams.
• Proficiency with geotechnical software including Deswik and the Rocscience Suite.
• Sound understanding of WA mining legislation and safety requirements.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop others.
• Current C Class Driver's Licence.

Responsabilités

• Lead geotechnical engineering activities across underground and surface mining operations.
• Develop, implement and improve ground control strategies, systems and the Ground Control Management Plan.
• Manage geotechnical risks through assessments, investigations, hazard management and performance monitoring.
• Provide technical input to mine design, planning and operational decision-making.
• Oversee ground support design, excavation stability, geotechnical mapping, structural interpretation and seismic monitoring.
• Manage geotechnical data, reporting, QA/QC processes and compliance requirements.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers while promoting geotechnical best practice across the site.
