Job summary

BHP Group is seeking a Mine Services Engineer for Olympic Dam in South Australia. You will translate short-term mine plans into safe, effective operations, working with underground crews and multiple teams to optimise performance and drive continuous improvement.

You will lead safety initiatives, develop practical solutions, and contribute to ramp-ups and modifications while engaging with Cross-functional teams and technology partners to enhance capabilities at the site.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Mining or Civil Engineering (Mechanical acceptable).
• Advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Experience in underground mining and paste operations.
• Strong stakeholder interaction and cross-functional collaboration.
• Project management experience is highly regarded.
• Experience with Deswik and Power BI is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support a strong safety culture through field leadership, hazard identification, investigations and compliance reviews.
• Liaise with underground crews to implement ideas and build cross-team relationships.
• Compile reports and provide expertise to other teams analysing mine services performance indicators.
• Support ramp-up, optimisation, and troubleshooting of the Paste Reticulation System for safe, reliable operations.
• Engage with Backfill, Vent, GTS, Development, Scheduling and Maintenance teams for plant/equipment modifications, and with Technology teams to explore new capabilities.
