Job summary

BHP is seeking a Specialist Process Control Engineer to support both Mine and Surface operations at Olympic Dam in South Australia. The role offers FIFO, DIDO or residential options with flexible work arrangements between Olympic Dam and Adelaide.

You will investigate and implement changes to Rockwell PLCs and Plant SCADA, design control system updates, and drive safety, productivity and standard improvements while engaging with Production, Technical, Metallurgical and Process Safety teams.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in process control and control strategy design.
• Experience with Rockwell PLCs and Plant SCADA is highly desirable.
• Ability to multi-task and to meet tight deadlines.
• Adapt to change and remain calm under changing circumstances.
• Demonstrated ability to engage, lead change and deliver outcomes.
• Experience coordinating or implementing improvements to plant process control.
• Operational technology or instrumentation background is a plus.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills are critical.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, analyse, scope and implement changes to control systems configuration (Rockwell PLCs and Plant SCADA).
• Design and develop changes to control systems, including testing and modifying existing systems for optimal performance.
• Drive safety, inclusiveness and productivity goals through proactive delivery.
• Identify and implement improvements to standards within Olympic Dam control systems.
• Establish positive working relationships with operations and support functions.
• Ensure operational technology enables delivery of Mine and Surface Operations Plan.
