Job summary

BHP invites applications for a Senior Engineer Mine Design at Olympic Dam, Adelaide. You will join the Resource Engineering team to shape mine design across 20–40Mt blocks, coordinating with planning and execution to deliver safe, efficient, and innovative designs.

You will work through the full planning cycle from concept to execution, leveraging 3D visualization and Excel-driven analyses to optimise stope and development plans while supporting hybrid work arrangements in a major IOCG project.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mining, Geotechnical, Civil, or allied discipline.
• Experience in underground mining operations.
• Ability to work within Olympic Dam operations team.
• Proficiency in mining software and Excel.
• Strong communication and teamwork.
• Understanding of project management and constraints theory.

Responsibilities

• Communicate and collaborate with Planning and Execution teams for mine development and stope planning.
• Plan/design to extract value from orebody with Planning and Execution teams.
• Monitor and maintain progress for all design work with relevant tools.
• Deliver Stope Notes for allocated mine areas.
• Deliver horizontal and vertical development designs.
• Work with execution and technical teams on integrated improvement projects.
• Contribute to maintenance and verification of mine design and execution processes.
