Job summary

Macmahon, a leading underground mining contractor, is seeking a qualified HD Fitter to join our project teams across Australia. You’ll perform scheduled maintenance, repairs and diagnostics on underground equipment.

You’ll work with experienced crews, share knowledge and uphold our safety culture to keep plant running reliably on rotating rosters (7/7 or 14/14). Australian recognised Heavy Mechanical Trade qualification and an Automotive Air Conditioning license are highly regarded for this

Qualifications

• HD Fitter with underground mining experience and proven maintenance skills.
• Strong knowledge of heavy earthmoving equipment used in underground operations.
• Trade qualification recognised in Australia for Heavy Mechanical work.
• Automotive Air Conditioning license is desirable.
• Commitment to safety and a proactive mindset.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a large fleet of Underground Mining Equipment.
• Diagnose faults and perform mechanical repairs.
• Complete servicing to OEM standards and site procedures.
• Be proactive with role requirements related to mining cycle to minimise downtime.
• Provide clear and effective communication.
• Contribute to a people-first culture and Winning Values.
• Help teammates and support a strong crew culture.

Role Details

• Location: Various projects across Australia
• Roster: 7/7 (rotating days and nights) OR 14/14 (days and nights)

About the Role

You’ll carry out scheduled and breakdown maintenance, repairs, servicing and diagnostics on various underground equipment across our Project. You’ll work alongside experienced teammates who share knowledge and support each other to get the job done safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a large fleet of Underground Mining Equipment
• Diagnose faults and perform mechanical repairs
• Complete servicing to OEM standards and site procedures
• Be proactive with specific role requirements relating to the mining cycle, ensuring minimal operational downtime
• Provide clear and effective communication
• Contribute to our people-first culture and live our Winning Values
• Help teammates, share knowledge and support a strong crew culture

What You’ll Bring

• Previous experience working as a HD Fitter in underground mining
• Strong knowledge of a range of heavy earthmoving equipment and underground ancillary plant
• Australian recognised Heavy Mechanical Trade Qualification
• Automotive Air Conditioning license (Desirable)
• Strong safety focus and ability to speak up
• A team mindset and reliable work ethic
• Commitment to contributing to a positive culture
• Working at Heights, EWP, IT and First Aid Certificate (Highly desired)
