Job summary

Wesley Mission Queensland in Australia is seeking a Case Worker for the Housing and Support Link Service. This identified position focuses on culturally safe, trauma-informed, holistic case management and supportive services for young parents experiencing homelessness or housing instability.

You will build trusting relationships, support goals, and connect young people to culture and community, while coordinating access to programs and reporting to management.

Qualifications

• Completed degree qualification in Human Services or related field.
• Experience in coaching and case management using holistic, trauma-informed and strengths-based methods.
• Experience in intake, assessment, case management, advice, advocacy and referral.
• Understanding of factors placing youth at risk of homelessness and housing instability.
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status and probity checks as required by policy.

Responsibilities

• Deliver culturally safe, trauma-informed case management for young parents.
• Build trusting relationships and connect youth to culture and community.
• Develop youth-centered housing, wellbeing, and life goals in partnership with families.
• Coordinate access to programs, support groups, and community networks.
• Provide regular updates and reporting to management and contribute to learning and improvement.
• Support program development and evaluation with community feedback and cultural knowledge.
