Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a dedicated Youth Services case manager to support young people facing homelessness through Oasis Transitional Accommodation and the Oasis drop-in centre in Sydney. You will deliver holistic case management, work with partners to secure stable housing, and promote tenancy readiness while applying trauma-informed care principles.

You will collaborate with various stakeholders, adapt to out-of-hours needs, and maintain thorough records.

Qualifications

• Degree in social work or related field preferred.
• Diploma in Youth Work/Community Services/Case Management required.
• Demonstrated casework with youth homelessness or related roles.
• Trauma-/psychologically informed approach to practice.
• Knowledge of youth homelessness causes and housing options.
• Understanding health/welfare issues impacting homeless youth.
• Ability to create culturally safe/inclusive workplaces.
• Experience building collaborative relationships with providers.
• Ability to respond to unsafe situations and incidents.
• Time management and rigorous documentation/risk reporting.
• Flexible hours to meet operations.
• Current NSW Driver’s Licence.
• Senior First Aid certificate.
• NSW Working with Children Check and willingness to obtain National Police Check.
• Proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Deliver holistic case management and housing support through Oasis Transitional Accommodation and Oasis Drop-in.
• Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to help youths achieve stable housing and tenancy readiness.
• Apply best-practice frameworks to ensure client-focused outcomes.
• Maintain accurate records and comply with risk management and reporting expectations.

Education

Degree qualification in social work or related field

Diploma level qualification in Youth Work/Community Services/Case Management

Demonstrated casework experience with youth homelessness

Trauma- and psychologically informed practice

Knowledge of causes of youth homelessness and housing support

Health and welfare issues affecting youth homelessness

Culturally safe and inclusive practice

Collaborative relationship building with providers

Ability to respond to unsafe situations

Time management and record keeping

Flexibility with work hours

Current NSW Driver’s License

Senior First Aid certificate

NSW Working with Children Check and willingness for National Police Check
