Job summary

Marist180 seeks a Therapeutic Specialist to deliver therapeutic interventions for children and young people who have experienced significant trauma. Based in Blacktown, NSW with flexible arrangements for the Greater Sydney area, you will work with staff, carers, and external agencies to ensure child-centered care and permanency planning.

The role requires relevant tertiary qualifications, 5+ years post-graduation experience, and current registrations.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Family Counselling, Psychology or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years' post-graduation experience.
• Current registration with the professional peak body relevant to their qualification (e.g., AHPRA, AASW).
• Experience working with children and young people experiencing complex trauma.
• Ability to support staff and families within child protection contexts.

Responsibilities

• Assess needs of children and young people and coordinate with internal/external services.
• Deliver interventions including Treatment Plans, Restoration, Fostering, Adoption, Kinship Care, or alternative placements.
• Provide trauma-informed supervision, training, and consultation to staff, carers, and volunteers.
• Work with allied health to stay current with evidence-based practices.
• Create supportive therapeutic environments addressing emotional, social, and educational needs of young people.
• Coordinate and lead Care Team Meetings and Reflective Practice.
