Job summary

Marist180 in Sydney is seeking a Youth Worker for Specialist Homelessness Services on a part-time and casual basis. You will support young people with daily living skills, wellbeing, and community connection in a trauma-informed environment.

The role requires diploma in Youth Work or similar, minimum 1 year experience in residential settings, and checks (Police, Working with Children), First Aid/CPR, and a valid driver's licence. This is a child-safe organisation valuing safety and diversity.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Youth Work, Community Services or similar.

Responsibilities

• Support each young person's case plan with the House Manager and care team.
• Engage with young people to build mentoring relationships and promote positive self-care.
• Develop living and personal skills through daily routines, hygiene and budgeting.
• Encourage participation in education, employment, volunteering and community activities.
• Assist with day-to-day activities and maintain a safe, calm environment.
• Balance needs of individuals with group dynamics and safety.
• Support behaviour management in line with Marist180 guidelines.
• Respond to challenging behaviours and ensure safety of at-risk youths.
• Maintain accurate records, reports and timesheets.
• Contribute to a positive, safe workplace and report safety concerns.
• Participate in supervision and learning opportunities.
• Complete house tasks and respond to directions from the house manager.
