Job summary

Australian Childhood Foundation in Norwest, NSW is seeking a Therapeutic Specialist for a part-time, four-day-week role. You will deliver specialist therapeutic interventions with children and young people and provide support to foster carers and their networks.

The position partners with families and professionals to implement trauma-informed care. Join a not-for-profit organisation committed to protecting children.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work or related discipline.
• Eligibility for membership of the relevant professional association.
• Experience in clinical assessment and treatment of children, young people and families.
• Ability to provide secondary consultation to clinicians and other professionals.
• Knowledge of trauma, attachment and neurobiology frameworks and theories.
• Experience in child abuse and/or working with traumatised children.
• Current NSW driver’s licence or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist therapeutic intervention with children and young people.
• Offer therapeutic support to foster carers, kinship carers and other care team members.
• Collaborate with networks of professionals to deliver the program.
