Job summary

Anglicare Southern Queensland is seeking Expressions of Interest for Permanent Part-Time Residential Youth Worker roles on the Gold Coast, QLD. You will provide therapeutic, trauma-informed care to children and young people in Out of Home Care, supporting safe, nurturing environments and positive development.

The role requires shift availability, including day/evening/weekend/sleepover duties, with contracted hours and roster patterns varying by needs.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV or higher qualification in Child, Youth & Family Intervention, Youth Services, Community Services, or a related field
• Current Blue Card (Working with Children’s Check QLD)
• Current Queensland Driver Licence
• Ability to provide two recent referee reports from supervisors
• Availability for day, evening and weekend shifts, including sleepovers or awake shifts, is essential for current operational needs

Responsibilities

• Be the primary caregiver during shifts, ensuring safety of young people in care
• Assist in developing trauma-informed interventions for youth with complex needs
• Plan and engage in meaningful activities with the young person
• Maintain daily case notes and incident reports
• Collaborate with Coordinator and Service Manager to support wellbeing and placement stability
