Job summary

UnitingCare Queensland is hiring a Youth Worker for Out of Home Care in Kingaroy. The role focuses on therapeutic-centred care, supporting vulnerable children and young people in residential settings, and contributing to stable, nurturing living environments.

You will work within the FaDS team, promoting safety, belonging and development, while completing required reports and collaborating with families and communities.

Qualifications

• Hold or be enrolled in a Certificate Level IV in Child, Youth & Family Intervention or Minimum Certificate IV in Human Services, Community Services, Youth Services or related field.
• Ability to work in a 24hr roster system.
• Current Blue Card (Working with Children), First Aid & CPR and QLD Driver Licence.
• Willingness to undergo a personal history check under the Child Protection Act 1999 for licensing of care services (LCS2).

Responsibilities

• Work in accordance with the CARE model to support children, young people and families in trauma‑informed care.
• Support stable, nurturing non-family-based care arrangements.
• Assist young people to feel safe, belong, and build positive connections with family and community.
• Assist with completing verbal and written reports and manage day‑to‑day tasks.
