Job summary

Be Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Therapeutic Youth Worker for a residential care setting in New South Wales. You will deliver trauma-informed, supportive care to children and young people with complex needs, within a multidisciplinary team.

Rosters include days, evenings, weekends, and sleepovers. The role requires a Cert IV or higher in Community Services or Youth Work, plus a minimum of six months’ paid experience, a valid NSW driver’s licence and WWCC.

Qualifications

• Cert IV or higher in Community Services, Youth Work or similar is mandatory.
• Minimum six months of paid experience as a Therapeutic Youth Worker.
• Full NSW Driver’s Licence.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).
• Willingness to undergo a National Police Check.
• COVID-19 vaccination or valid medical exemption.
• Availability to work a rotating roster, including days, evenings, weekends, and sleepovers & active nights.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent therapeutic care grounded in trauma-informed practice.
• Model pro-social behaviours to help young people develop healthy relationships and life skills.
• Create a safe, nurturing, and structured home environment.
• Support young people in understanding and managing trauma-related behaviours.
• Encourage engagement in education, recreation, and community activities.
• Assist with daily routines including personal care, meals, school attendance and appointments.
• Maintain accurate records and incident reports as per procedures.
