Job summary

Healthcare Australia is seeking a casual Residential Youth Worker to support children and young people in out-of-home care. You’ll build trust, provide trauma-informed care, and help with daily living, transportation and safety.

Rosters are set in advance for stability; emergency and ad hoc shifts are available weekly. You’ll work with a multidisciplinary team delivering therapeutic support and health reporting.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Youth Work or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 6 months experience in Residential Youth Services.
• Working With Children Check and driver’s licence preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create safety, stability and predictability for at-risk youth.
• Assist with personal care, meals and hygiene to promote independence.
• Facilitate transportation to school, appointments and activities.
• Promote emotional regulation and social connection through activities.
• Manage health needs including medication administration and reporting.
• Deliver trauma-informed care using a trauma-informed approach.
• Complete Trauma Crisis Intervention (TCI) within three months.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop support plans.
