Job summary

IFYS is offering a 12 month fixed-term, part-time role as Connecting Kin Coordinator for the Sunshine Coast region. The role focuses on supporting children and young people under 18 in care or with enhanced family connections, working with families, the Department, and other agencies.

A tertiary degree in a related field is required, with demonstrated experience in family support and child protection. The position is based in Maroochydore with travel across the region and a base salary of

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Child Protection, Human Services, Social Work or related field required.
• Experience engaging with vulnerable families and children.
• Experience in child protection and family support services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply trauma-informed, attachment-based and therapeutic practices with children, young people and families.
• Build and maintain relationships with vulnerable families and relevant contacts.
• Manage an allocated caseload from local Child Safety Service Centres with timely assessments.
• Understand complex family, cultural and community dynamics and apply appropriate interventions.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and work autonomously within a team.
• Maintain accurate client records, plans, reports and program data for compliance.
