Job summary

IFYS Foster and Kinship Care Sunshine Coast has an exciting opportunity for a Foster and Kinship Care Coordinator to join the team.

Working collaboratively with the Department of Families, Seniors, Disability Services and Child Safety of Queensland, this role will be responsible for providing placement supervision and support to foster and kinship carers, children and young people in family-based care across the Sunshine Coast and Gympie Region.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and families in a therapeutic environment.
• Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or related field.
• Exceptional time management and prioritisation skills.
• Understanding of child protection and statutory intervention services.
• Strengths-based and client-centred practice.
• Strong written and verbal communication and report writing.

Responsibilities

• Assess carers' capacity to meet the Standards of Care and advise on suitability.
• Maintain regular contact with foster/kinship families to ensure safe, nurturing care.
• Coordinate placement matching for new referrals.
• Ensure compliance with licensing and quality frameworks.
• Provide direct support to children and young people and coordinate placements.
• Attend care team meetings to liaise with community organisations and services.
