Job summary

Save the Children Australia, via 54 reasons, is seeking a Family Support Specialist in the Moreton Bay Region for a part-time max-term parental leave role within our Refuge team. You’ll help deliver safe accommodation and trauma-informed support to children and families affected by domestic violence.

We value teamwork, cultural sensitivity, and strong communication. The role requires tertiary qualifications, a current driver’s licence, and a passion for child rights and family support.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in case management and knowledge of relevant legislation.
• Knowledge and understanding of domestic and family violence, including the impact on children.
• Experience working with families from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate safe accommodation for women and children escaping DFV.
• Conduct risk and needs assessments within a trauma-informed framework.
• Coordinate with families to secure safe, sustainable housing or connect to services.
